Iran: Six Citizens Sentenced to Fine and Lashes

ICBHR– Six citizens, who were reportedly arrested during the 2019 Iran Protests, were sentenced to fine and lashes.

On Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the Islamic Revolutionary Court issued “fine and lashes as alternative sentences of a 48-month prison term” against Keyvan Pashaie, Ali Azizi, Amin Zare, Salar Taher Afshar, Elyar Husseinzadeh, and Yasin Hassanpour.

The citizens, who live in Urmia, were previously sentenced to eight months in prison each on the bogus charges of “disturbing public order through taking a part in [alleged] illegal unrest”.
