ICBHR– The imprisoned blogger Soheil Arabi, who is being kept at Greater Tehran Prison, started an open-ended hunger strike again since Saturday, April 6, 2020, in protest against critical conditions in the prison.
He was deprived of being hospitalized despite his dire situation. “The prisoners have been allegedly deprived of medical treatment because the prison can’t afford to pay regular payments towards its debts. Soheil suffers from severe low blood sugar (hyperglycemia) and his life is at serious risk.
Soheil had ended another hunger strike after the officials allegedly vowed to fulfill his demands. He had started dry hunger strike on March 16, 2020, for the same reasons.
The jailed blogger has launched hunger strike again (no food or water) since Saturday refused both food and water.
Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court issued another three years imprisonment against him on the bogus charges of “propaganda against the regime”, and “disturbing public opinion” while he was serving his seven-year and six-month prison term.
The Islamic court sentenced him to three years in exile and fine as additional punishment.
