Iran: Human Rights Lawyer Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison

The branch 15 of Islamic Revolutionary Court issued 30 years of prison for human rights lawyer, Amirsalar Davoudi, the ICBHR was informed.

“Based on Article 134, 15 years of the sentence would be executed”, according to reports.

The jailed human rights lawyer was accused of ambiguous charges of “assembly and collusion”, “spreading false news”, insulting officials and the Supreme Leader”, “propaganda against the regime of Iran”, and “creating group for regime change and collaborating with hostile states”.

Amirsalar Davoudi, was arrested by security agents at his workplace on November 20, 2018.

He is currently being held in Evin prison.

He has been the attorney of many Baha’i and political prisoners including Soheil Arabi & Saeid Shirzad.
